Tieteelliset referenssit ja julkaisut

Food contact materials and textiles typically contain high amounts of extractables, many of which are chemically unknown and/or toxicologically not characterized. Their safety assessment by traditional means (identification of individual compounds, individual testing of characterised compounds) is expensive and laborious. Moreover, the traditional approach does not give indication of the eventual synergistic effects of the compounds in the sample.

We help our customers to obtain a comprehensive view of the toxic potential of the sample at quantities close to real life exposure measuring both acute and sublethal cellular toxicity and genotoxicity by using bioassays. No animal experimentation is needed. These tests can be applied to chemically poorly defined samples such as extracts of packaging materials and textiles, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and environmental samples.

Project Biosafepaper

The Biosafepaper project (2001-2005), which forms the background of the Biosafe-approach, is already known in Europe by both industry and authorities.
